Old-Craft Rantings:

Traditional Witchcraft is very different to the Modern Revivalist Neo-Pagan forms of Witchcraft and Wicca.

 

The Milesian Order of Clanna Gadelus, is a Traditional Witchcraft Order and Clan of Cuveens, we uphold a Clan Structure that is both Feudal, Clan and Tribal within its Ethos and School of Thought.  

 

We do not have a High Priestess or a High Priest as the Leaders or Head figures, of our Cuveen structure and membership, those are from the Neo-Pagan Wiccan persuasion of thought.

 

We also do not follow a Triple Goddess figure, the concept of the Triple Goddess first came about from ideas held by the Anthropologist Jane Ellen Harrison who was predominant in the 1920s, and had an influence on the thoughts, writings and poetic vision of author Robert Graves, author of The White Goddess, book. Those ideas founded the ethos behind the concept of what Wiccans and Neo-Pagans see as the Triple Goddess.

 

We do not venerate or worship such an entity or vision of the Divine in such a way... neither do we uphold to a belief in Karma, that belief system is also foreign to us, and has it's origins in both the orient and eastern thoughts such as in Buddhism and Hinduism, a belief system that was not originally part of either mainland European or Northern European Beliefs, but has been influenced by the travels of modern society and people's modern minds adoption of foreign eastern thought.

 

Instead, the native belief system of the indigenous European People, particularly Northern European, was in that of a belief system that surrounded the concept and ideas of Fate and the connection of both Humanity with Fate as a divine presence.  

 

 Our Cuveen Structure, and the Structure of our Clan is very different, to that of Wiccan influences Neo-Pagan Witchcraft practices.

 

At the Head of Our Clan is both the Maid and Magister, who are akin to being the Clan Mother and Father figures.
Under them are various other Members with various Job Roles within the Clan Structure.

Some of these job title roles within the Clan may include: Maid or Magistra, Magister or Master, Maiden, Tanist, Summoner, Scribe,  Verdelet, Keeper (of the Keys, or Records), Seer or Oracle, Warden or Wardensi.

 

The Milesian Order of Clanna Gadelus is a Clan that has its own belief system, that closely ties in with the concept of the numinous Gods being Ancestral, and not separate to or above the Clan, but as an essential Egregore and Divine Tutor and Titular Entities that are a fundamental part of the Clan.

 

As such learning within the Clan is both that of a Mystery School and that of a Priesthood, but without the Hierarchical Dogma of formal structure, with the Degrees being that of learned experience, rather than that of Title or Heirs and Graces, as a Clan we are all beginners at somepoint, who knock on the door to gain entry to the Temple, and the Craft as to be both learned and passed-on and taught, there is no special genetic marked within the blood or DNA, so therefore we do not adhere to the concept of Witchblood, but to that of both Kin and Kith, as Clan Members. For example, a person may be a family member by blood, but they may not be a Clan member if the have not been trained and intitiated into the Cuveen's Mysteries and Tradition, whereas, someone who is Kith not blood related but adopted as a member of the Clan who is trained and initiated, is therefore Spiritual family, and a member of the Clan in Truth, by having access to the Order's mysteries and training, do it more family than someone who is a blood relative, but does not belong to the Clan or its Cuveens.
